It’s been revealed that the media regulator Ofcom (who you can complain to about various things you don’t like on TV and all that) have received a massive 4000 complaints about Dannii Minogue’s comments to Danyl on The X Factor last Saturday. Dannii’s quip that "there was no need to switch the gender reference in that song" when Danyl sang the Jennifer Hudson song I’m Telling You infuriated viewers, and she later apologised for what she says was meant as a joke. It’s been widely reported that Danyl is bisexual, and the aspiring singer himself is said to be totally fine about Dannii’s comments.

..but, what is the actual complaint here? She didn't say anything offensive. I noticed he'd changed the reference too and I was hoping one of them would ask him why he made a point of doing so when there wasn't any need. It was meerly an observation!

I get the feeling it wasn't planned as when Simon asked Dannii to repeat herself she looked very embarrassed. Then on Sun night it was all glossed over and Simon said he'd over-reacted. It was a bad thing to say but I think she knows this now.
