Jamie Afro’s throat bug hell

X Factor star Jamie Afro has revealed that he almost died from a throat infection. The aspiring rocker was rushed to intensive care in 2006 when his throat became so swollen due to a throat bug he was unable to breathe. A friend said: "He got to the hospital just in time for doctors to insert an air tube. Minutes later and his throat would have completely closed over. If that had happened it would have killed him. Or doctors would have had to cut a hole in his throat for a tracheotomy and that would have ruined his singing voice." Eek.
