Danyl Johnson – where has it all gone wrong?

Danyl Johnson went into the X Factor live shows as the favourite following his storming first audition, but for some reason things have since started to go horribly wrong for the school teacher. Last week a devastated Danyl sobbed backstage as he narrowly avoided getting the boot, and on Saturday he was blubbing again after the judges branded his rock rendition "off-key". Simon Cowell is still adamant that Danyl is one of the best singers in the competition, and there's no denying the man can sing. So, why have the public fallen out of love with him? To be fair to Danyl, he was never going to outdo that amazing first audition (see video below to remind yourselves), and unsavoury stories about him in the tabloids can't have helped, either. He probably wants to win it more than anyone else, and we totally believe his tears and leaps of joy are utterly genuine. However, many people just do not like him. heatworld's own mum even commented this weekend that "the bloke with the big eyes looks like he's given up", and he did seem depressed.
