Simon Amstell pisses everyone off

Simon Amstell scooped the Entertainment Performance gong at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards last night. But it’s fair to say his acceptance speech didn’t go down too well.

heat can exclusively reveal Simon – who beat The Friday Night Project’s Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr – jumped onstage to collect his award and said The Friday Night Project was not worthy of nomination. If that wasn’t enough, he added (to a ripple of boos) that at least he wasn’t Kate Thornton. Me-ow!
