There was no prising one particular shoe away from the red carpet this year. Adorning the pedi-perfect feet of, among others, Victoria Beckham, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera and J-Lo, the YSL Tribute with its six-inch heel and inch-and-a-half platform was without a doubt the hottest ticket in town for A-list tootsies.

Want to get red-carpet-ready a la Connelly? Cute fashion-forward frock: check. Over-sized statement necklace: check. Lustrous glossy locks: check. Then why, oh why, oh why, would you strap a pair of orthopaedic shoes to your feet, Jennifer? Unless you’re fresh out of major back surgery or involved in some sort of dare, there is NO EXCUSE for raiding your nan’s shoe collection.
