I love a bit of celeb spotting!

One of my favourite things is celebrity spotting. There is a certain code to a good spot. It involves a look and slight smile in the celeb’s direction, which hopefully will be acknowledged by a similar smile back, which says “thanks for spotting, yet not approaching me.”
Last week, while on the tube, James Dean Bradfield of the Manic Street Preachers got on my carriage. I went for the “look”, but received nothing back. I looked for other spotters, but nobody had noticed until I recognised the beat from someone’s iPod. It was Motorcycle Loneliness by the Manics!
Impressed by the way the iPod man had displayed his “spot”, I thought I’d give him the look, but the fan had no idea that Bradfield was there. I tried everything without speaking. Looks to the man, looks to Bradfield, looks to the man and Bradfield, but neither of them realised. Well, at least I knew.

I think you'll find you saw those people. I saw, I have seen. Little free grammar lesson there. Sorry to be pedantic (esp since you appear to be a fellow Northern Ireland resident Starry!) but it's a pet peeve.
