The price of roses

So it’s Valentine’s week and the price of roses rockets.

I had a go at a florist once at this time of the year who blamed his Dutch supplier for putting up the prices of roses from 50p to £5.

The amazing thing is by the 15 Feb the price has gone down again. So if my wife is not overly impressed with daffodils this year (nice ones though), I may not come home from work on Valentine’s night, concoct some terrible kidnap story and then get my normal-price roses (12 of course) and say that I bought them the day before. Is there a flaw in my plan do you think?
