The American Idol contestant everyone’s talking about

If you saw American Idol on ITV2 last night, you’ll have fallen under the spell of 16-year-old David Archuleta, who wowed the judges with his rendition of Bryan Adams’ Heaven. The cute teenager is tipped to win the show, but not without controversy – once again, there are accusations that he’s already got a record deal. David has been singing semi-professionally for years (he even performed on US chat show Jenny Jones as a wee nipper), but, since the rules state that Idol contestants cannot currently have any kind of management or recording contract, it’s thought that he’s in the clear. We do hope so – he’s ACE, and reminds us of a young Gareth Gates!

gec_12 I completely understand where you're coming from on the Simon Cowell thing. I have a weird crush on him too!

is it wrong that I like American Idol better than X Factor. And that I like Simon Cowell a bit too much? *hangs head in shame*

I think the true reflection of his talent is that the backing singer's crying, he is good tho aint he? Not a bit like G G G Gareth Gates s s whois proving hisself to be a complete uppity cock on Dancing...

wow, a bit of vocal training and he will go very very far. Love the song although i think it may have been used simply because that song was the 9/11 tribute song. Still good voice though.....oh and garetj gaes was NOT that good.
