Nadine: “I don’t see UK as home anymore”
It would appear that Nadine has officially turned her back on the UK and settled permanently in America. The Girls Aloud singer, who started tongues wagging last month when she failed to show up at the Brits with her fellow band mates, has even gone as far as to buy a Mexican restaurant in Newport Beach, California. The star and her family also own an Irish bar in Santa Monica and a number of properties in the Los Angeles area, and it is now thought that her preoccupation with her latest venture was the real reason she snubbed the Brits. Nadine says, “LA is my home now and the UK is where I work. I don’t see the UK as home anymore.” Charming. It’s all very well moving somewhere warmer, Nadine, but aren’t you supposed to be in a band. Sounds to us like someone’s forgotten who put her where she is today…
Madonna talks about turning 50 (yikes)
Madonna has vowed she will continue to work despite hitting the big 5-0 later this year. The queen of pop branded her big day as "just another birthday party" adding, "Well, I'm sure I wasn't put on this earth just to make records. There are a lot of things I want to achieve. I'd like to be a better human being. I'd like to be a better parent. I still have my children to raise. That's a big responsibility, I'm not done with that. I would like to direct more films and write them. I've only done one. To me that's the beginning of that career and I want to make more records. I love music." Madonna is currently promoting her new album Hard Candy which will be released next month, and even revealed that her daughter Lourdes is growing into a mini Madge, saying, "She has a very strong opinion of clothes and fashion and a strong personality, so that'll be a challenge for me. She says she wants to be an actress."
Lily talks about being "sad and lonely"
Lily Allen is refusing to go out for fear of tumbling back into drink and drug addiction. The singer said, "I've been sad and quite lonely recently because if you're young, living in London and working in this industry, unless you drink and take a lot of drugs, there's not much to do. I've been sitting on my own watching TV. It's boring to go out if everyone else is taking cocaine and shouting at me." In a frank interview, Lily spoke openly about the effect of losing her baby has had on her, adding, "When I was pregnant I stopped drinking and I didn't start again. Then when the baby was gone, I thought, 'That doesn't mean I'm going to go back to how I was.'"
Desperate Housewives takes to the stage
Most exciting news of the day: Desperate Housewives may be heading for Broadway! Actor Kyle MacLachlan, who plays Orson Hodge in the series (and he was in Sex And The City – he sure does get around, that one), told a radio show that Desperate Housewives' creator Marc Cherry had been dropping hints about creating a possible stage musical based on the hit show. How amazing would that be? We might even take a night off from watching Alfie Allen in Equus to see it.

I love that Nadine is buying up L.A - let her stay! I am sure Girls Aloud can go on without her? So sorry for Lily Allen - hope it gets better for her soon! But good on her for staying away from the booze & drugs - I know its well hard!
