Tributes pour in for tragic Mark:
Tributes have been flooding in following the tragic discovery of heart broken kids TV presenter Mark Speight at Paddington Station yesterday. The 42-year-old, who had allegedly told friends he wanted to “end it all” was found hanging in the roof space of the busy London station by a maintenance man. He had been suffering terribly since the death of his fiancee Natasha Collins in January and was last week described by the police as “vulnerable”. The star’s agent Mark French said, “Obviously it all got too much for him and he couldn’t cope. It’s very sad,” while the BBC issued a statement saying: “Mark was a hugely talented presenter for many years.” The star’s stricken father hailed his son “wonderful” and close friend Stu Goldsmith said, “I’m devastated. He was my best mate. He blamed himself for Natasha’s death and it affected him considerably.” Mark’s body was taken to a hospital mortuary yesterday and an inquest is expected to take place immediately.
Kerry takes baby Max home
After her traumatic pregnancy, Kerry Katona has taken two-day-old baby Max home from hospital. Kerry, who gave birth on Friday afternoon, was greeted at the door of her house by daughters Molly and Lily-Sue, who are "overjoyed" to have a little brother. However, it's not quite happy families for Kerry yet, as a picture taken on Mark Croft's mobile phone of the new baby, which was texted to close friends and family, appeared in yesterday's papers. "It makes her question everyone around her," says a source, who is in no doubt that one of her "mates" leaked the picture to the tabloids for cash. Oh dear.
Heather moves to LA
Despite her disastrous performance at a US beauty pageant last week (she was heckled and booed by the crowd in Vegas), Heather Mills has announced that she will be moving to the good old US of A. "In England, people don 't like me," she said, in a rare moment of self-awareness. "But I'm going to move to America; Los Angeles, hopefully. I love England, but everything that has happenned makes me realise I'll be better off in the states." She was also spotted chatting to PR guru Elliot Mintz, the man responsible for overseeing Paris Hilton's career. Uh oh.
Pete's life of luxury
Don’t worry too much about jailed druggie rocker Pete Doherty – it would appear he’s getting the 5-star treatment in prison. The grubby singer, who was jailed for 14 weeks after missing repeated drugs tests, has allegedly been given his own cell with two mattresses, a radio and a TV. He is being kept in the segregated wing of Wormwood Scrubs with other “high-risk” prisoners because of his celebrity status, which makes him more vulnerable than other inmates. The special treatment has reportedly angered many of the other convicts, who usually have to earn extras over weeks of good behaviour. The star’s solicitor said, “Obviously Pete didn’t want to go to prison, but he was philosophical.” We just hope this is the turning point for the troubled star.
