Did Simon deserve to get fired?

It’s OK, Mr Mario Testino, you can come out from behind the sofa now... Needless to say, there’s no chance whatsoever that any of the Apprentice contestants will be leaving the show for a new career in photography – although we know which one we’d like to get in front of the camera. Preferably naked. Sigh... Anyway, back to the point, after arguably one of the bitchiest Apprentice episodes like, ever, it was ex-army grafter Simon who was given his marching orders – but did he really deserve to go? As much as we adore Alex, we have to admit he was maybe a teensy weensy bit of an arse to poor old Simon. Actually, who are we kidding? He was a TOTAL arse, but a damn tasty one – so we’ll forgive him. Sir Alan’s sidekick Margaret clearly isn’t a fan, though. When Alex tried to defend his reluctance to take on the “second in command” role, she snapped back, “You stepped so far back from it that you were practically out of the room!”. But it was Claire who really made the veins on our heads pop out. We got an inkling that she was a bit of a – how do we say this nicely? – two-faced old trout during the pub-food task, but last night even Sir Alan was appalled. Didn’t you just love it when he told her he was “sick of looking at her”? Oh how we clapped! Alas, though, despite having a clear soft spot for satellite-dish installer Simon, a reluctant Sir Alan sent him packing. Poor thing. So, do you think he was right to give Claire another chance? Should Alex’s second trip to the boardroom have been his last, or was Simon always a little bit out of his depth anyway? Tell us. You know you want to.
