Was this the worst dressed awards ceremony EVER?

Oh, we do love our homegrown soap stars – they get to act in some right gritty storylines and then whenever they go out, they always look like they’re having a laugh. Unfortunately, a lot of that laughter was directed at them this weekend at the British Soap Awards. Hollyoaks’ victory in a whopping six categories was overshadowed somewhat by the bizarre array of outfits on the, er, purple carpet. Just take a look at Holly-Jay Bowes (Hollyoaks' Michaela McQueen) weird watering can handbag! It definitely wasn’t a little black dress sort of night, as dozens of stars stepped out in frighteningly colourful frocks that looked like they’d been rejected from Stacey Slater’s market stall. Put on some very dark sunglasses and cast your eyes over our gallery of shame below. Still, at least they look like they’re having a good time, eh?
