Will YOU be buying Patricia Field's M&S fashion range?

We’re not sure if we’re very excited about this little piece of news, or just a little bit afraid. Patricia Field – yes, the lady behind the Sex And The City wardrobe – has been hired to create a collection for high-street store Marks & Spencer. Now, we’d all LOVE to look like our favorite SATC character, but what you have to remember is that dear Patricia’s own style is a little bit more, erm, how do we say this? Colourful. The 66-year-old stylist has worn some spectacularly daring outfits on the red carpet before – just check out the horns in this photo – and we’re just hoping her collection ends up being more understated SATC glamour than OTT shocking. Our mum shops for clothes at M&S for God’s sake – we don’t want her rocking up to the traditional family barbeque in a sequinned, neon, cutaway cat suit or something! But, according to Marks & Sparks, we have nothing to worry about. “As soon as we heard about the collection, I knew we had to have it,” gushed their executive director of clothing. Although the designs are still secret at the moment, rumours are circulating that it includes a puffball skirt and a corseted evening dress. We’re just hoping and praying that Patricia, who has also worked on Ugly Betty and The Devil Wears Prada, will take inspiration from the wardrobes of her shows rather than her own kerrazy closet – we don't want her to confuse M&S with S&M!
