Cheryl replaces Sharon on The X Factor:
After much speculation, it's been announced that Cheryl Cole will replace Sharon Osbourne as an X Factor judge – bagging a massive £800,000 for the deal (cheap at twice the price, considering how much Sharon was asking for). The Girls Aloud singer will start filming almost immediately with auditions scheduled to start tomorrow. Cheryl, who will join Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue on this year’s search, said, "I’m so excited to be part of such a great show and although it’s scary joining a huge programme like The X Factor, it’s a massive honour to be following in the footsteps of Sharon Osbourne. The rest of the girls have said they’re right behind me, which is really important for me as it will be weird to be on the other side of the fence this time. So, whilst we get started on the next album, it will be brilliant to be a Judge on The X Factor.” It's hoped that Cheryl's own fame, that also started on a singing contest, will benefit the programme. Coupled with her fiery nature, show insiders are expecting fireworks. Cheryl and Dannii have clashed in the past – Dannii blasted Girls Aloud as chavs and blanked them when they appeared on last year's show' saying, "They say vile stuff about me in every interview. These girls, with their punch-ups and court appearances, I don't want to get involved. And Cheryl was quick to answer back – having a dig at Dannii’s plastic surgery. But last night Dannii played down any feuding, saying, "I am absolutely thrilled. I called Cheryl as soon as I heard to congratulate her." Who gets your vote, Dannii or Cheryl?
Blakeincarcerated is NOT happy with Doherty
Just when we think we can't dislike Blakeincarcerated any more, another bizarre and demented story comes out. The latest news is that Amy's banged-up husband has offered someone £20,000 to get Pete Doherty "smashed to pieces". The paranoid concerned 24-year-old has apparently become convinced that Pete is sleeping with his missus and supplying her with drugs – so he tried to hire someone to beat him up. As you do... Bouncer Richard Lyttle, who met Blakeincarcerated while he was on remand, admitted that he was approached. "We were sitting in my cell and he said, 'If you get Doherty for me I'll give you £20,000'," Richard said, "He knew where Pete lived and said he wanted him smashed to bits." Oo. Er. Sorry to break it to you, Blake, but we think all Pete and Amy do is play with baby mice. But then – and we can't believe we're about to write this – Pete might actually be a step up the scum ladder for Amy...
Will Young plans comeback
And he’s turned to the man who helped the Spice Girls. It's thought that Will will leave the ballads behind in his new album and has been consulting hit-maker Bif Stannard, who has penned a number of hit tracks. Will put his music career on hold last year to pursue an acting career, but was panned in reviews for his part in stage play The Vortex and has decided to go back to what he does best. A source said, "Will wants his return to be spectacular – and, by working with Biff, he's going about it the right way." What do you think – want Will back?
Court told Amy paid for Blake cover-up
In other demented and bizarre Amy/Blake news, a court heard yesterday that Amy Winehouse was involved in the plot to bribe GBH victim James King – and had even provided the £200,000 to keep him quiet. Blakeincarcerated and his "pal" Michael Brown beat up the ex-pub landlord and were both charged with assault. Ooh, he’s lovely that Blake, isn’t he? Instead of facing up to what they'd done, the pair hatched a plot to pay their victim to leave the country and not appear at the trial. However, unluckily for them, journalists working at The Daily Mirror uncovered the plan and informed the police. One of the journos, Stephen Moyes, told the court that when he asked whether or not Amy was involved he was told: "Who do you think is paying for it? Of course she knows." Despite this, the singer has never been charged with any offence relating to this case. Ever since Blakeincarcerated's arrest last year, more and more chilling details have emerged about his and Amy's life and how controlling and dominating a force he has been. We really think he should be kept away from Amy – preferably for good.
