Madonna was last straw for baseball star’s marriage
The wife of Alex Rodriguez, the 32-year-old American baseball star who was last week linked with Madonna, has filed for divorce citing “the husband’s extra-marital affairs and other marital misconduct”. Madonna has strongly denied any rumours of an affair, releasing a statement claiming, “I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage.” The lawyers of Alex’s wife Cynthia admit that they do not believe his relationship with Madonna is a sexual one – but an “affair of the heart”. Rumours that Madonna’s marriage to Guy Ritchie have been flying around for months –  so could this finally be the end?

It’s been a tumultuous year for Lily Allen, from suffering a miscarriage and the subsequent split from Chemical Brothers boyfriend Ed Simons to the death of her grandmother last weekend, but we’re pleased to report that her and Ed are officially back together! After being spotted shopping together over the weekend, the pair both changed their Facebook statuses to say that they are “in a relationship” with each other. If that’s not confirmation, we don’t know what is! According to a source close to the couple, Ed was there for Lily when she really needed him and that has bought them closer together.” Awww.

Celebrity breakups are always rather messy, thanks to them being played out in public. And when your former flame reinvents himself as a rock star, the likelihood of such a pivotal love split making its way into an array of his future songs is huge. Such is the case for Rhys Ifans and ex girlfriend Sienna Miller. Rhys – still very much devastated after his split with Sienna last month – has put pen to paper inspired by his broken heart, and has penned a song about the very public breakup. Along with his band The Peth, poor Rhys pulls no punches in new track Stonefinger. He sings, “Take me down to almost nothing/Bring me down with you/Every little things I do you hate it/Oh yes you do.” Not really any need to read between the lines there, eh?
 
Kate Moss and Jamie Hince on the rocks?
Could it all be over for Kate Moss and Jamie Hince? The couple have been together for 10 months, but now it seems all is not rosy in the Moss/Hince household. The Kills frontman Jamie moved his belongings from Kate’s north London home after a “blazing row” on Saturday. Adding insult to injury, Kate decided to give one of her boyfriend’s weekend gigs a miss – instead choosing to immerse herself in the all-singing all-dancing extravaganza that is the brand new stage version of High School Musical (!). But despite Kate taking herself off to Marbella the next day, Jamie is reported to be telling pals the split “isn’t permanent”.
