Jessica Simpson: "I was abused"

Bubbly singer Jessica Simpson has shocked fans by admitting that she was abused. During a recent interview with Elle magzine, Jess was questioned about the meaning of some of her new lyrics. The words on new tune Remember That reveal, "It doesn’t matter how he hurts you/ With his hands or with his words/ You don't deserve it/ It ain't worth it/ Take your heart and run." Asked if she had ever been the victim of abuse, Jess took a moment before admitting, "I don’t want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run." The singer refused to reveal any more details about her torment. She also says her new album is based entirely on her own life experiences, so perhaps making it has helped her to confront some of her demons from the past.
