Hollywood actress diagnosed with breast cancer

There's some sad news from the other side of the pond – Christina Applegate (who starred alongside Will Ferrell in the genius comedy Anchorman) has been diagnosed as having an early form of breast cancer. Luckily though, they've caught it in plenty of time, and the 36-year-old's spokesperson said: "Benefiting from early detection through a doctor-ordered MRI, the cancer is not life-threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will make a full recovery." It's another blow for the actress; just last month her boyfriend was found dead in his LA apartment after a drugs overdose. But Christina is battling on and she'll even be appearing on a special US show called Stand Up To Cancer to raise money for research against the disease. Get well soon, Christina!
