What do YOU think of "shocking" Beyonce advert?

A new L'Oreal ad campaign featuring Beyonce has sparked controversy across the globe. The image, which shows the singer with noticeably paler skin and strawberry-blonde hair, as caused critics to accuse the beauty giant of "whitewashing" Beyonce. When she initially signed with L'Oreal, the star signed a contract saying she would not make any "radical changes" to her appearance – but it would appear that the company had different ideas. As you can see from the pictures above, Beyonce looks remarkably different – and very heavily airbrushed. An American newspaper has labeled the photo "shocking" and "weird", while other websites are slamming them as "severely Photoshopped". The hair colour change can be attributed to the hair dye she's advertising for the campaign, but it's the skin shade that is upsetting people the most. Beyonce herself has declined to comment on the controversy, but L'Oreal have released a statement saying, "It is categorically untrue that L'Oreal Paris altered Ms Knowles' features or skin tone in the campaign." What do you think to all this? Are you outraged, or do you think it's to be expected that a certain amount of airbrushing would be done?

i'm not angry that they've 'white-washed' her, but I am angry that they feel they have to chnage her so much, when she's gorgrous already! Her hair is magnificent, and I can't see any reason why they would change her face!

Most countries respect people that are older, this country seems to think its unacceptable to get old, which is why the magazines have to airbrush everyone no doubt.

I agree that they are airbrushed but that is the magazines that want to airbrush everyone to the max. I think Madonna looks pretty good for her age. There are none of us that are going to stay young forever is there.

Me too Molly - and I love your pic! Beyonce is absolutely stunning and a role model for real girls, but she always gets airbrushed and slimmed down in adverts - I want to look like real Beyonce not weird fake airbrished Beyonce! Stop it ad-people!

It's a hair advert and the colour that's she's advertising looks better with the slightly lighter complexion. Beyonce herself obviosly didn't mind otherwise she wouldn't have given her permission and I doubt the advert would've been released.
