What do YOU think of "shocking" Beyonce advert?

A new L'Oreal ad campaign featuring Beyonce has sparked controversy across the globe. The image, which shows the singer with noticeably paler skin and strawberry-blonde hair, as caused critics to accuse the beauty giant of "whitewashing" Beyonce. When she initially signed with L'Oreal, the star signed a contract saying she would not make any "radical changes" to her appearance – but it would appear that the company had different ideas. As you can see from the pictures above, Beyonce looks remarkably different – and very heavily airbrushed. An American newspaper has labeled the photo "shocking" and "weird", while other websites are slamming them as "severely Photoshopped". The hair colour change can be attributed to the hair dye she's advertising for the campaign, but it's the skin shade that is upsetting people the most. Beyonce herself has declined to comment on the controversy, but L'Oreal have released a statement saying, "It is categorically untrue that L'Oreal Paris altered Ms Knowles' features or skin tone in the campaign." What do you think to all this? Are you outraged, or do you think it's to be expected that a certain amount of airbrushing would be done?

sainsburys ............. I AGREE WITH U BEYONCE NORMAL IMAGE IS PRETIER AND MUCH BETTER THEN THE FAKE LIGHTER ONE. i THINK LOREAL MANAGEMENT ARE BLIND AND FUGLY THAT THEY CAN'T DISTINGUSH WHAT IS BEAUTIFUL AND WHATS NOT

ALthough I agree with everyone that Beyonce looks far more beautiful in the natural picture of her. She doesn't need airbrushing

There are loads of beautiful women out there, plenty over 40 or 50 or older, who look great naturally and don't rely on airbrushing, styling or tons of make-up to look stunning - but then again there are some that lie about who they are!

Women in those ads are always about 4 shades lighter than they are in real life, they use that ridiculously unrealistic white light. If there was a racist reason behind Beyonce's lighter looking skin, why would loreal have chosen a black model?

Not at all DianeUK, but you have to admit, SJP and Madonna look like shit in the real-life photos of them, all haggard wrinkles, grey crepey skin, sunken-in faces and sinewy emaciated bodies. Then they get airbrushed into a fit 20-something! AS IF!
