Jade Goody diagnosed with cancer

Jade Goody diagnosed with cancer:
Jade Goody has been diagnosed with cancer. The star, who went into the Indian Big Brother house just two days ago, was called into the Diary Room and told the news by her consultant in the UK. She then burst into tears and ran into the house in hysterics, telling housemates: "I have cancer". Jade immediately left the house and is flying back for treatment. Her spokesperson confirmed, "She went for tests and results have come back and she has cancer of the womb. She was phoned up and informed. This is a massive blow for her." Poor Jade was undergoing hospital tests just over a week ago after collapsing four times, but was later discharged. She then went on to appear on the Indian show, called Bigg Boss, to try and make amends for her behaviour in last year's Celebrity Big Brother. Our thoughts are with you Jade.

Lily lashes out at record company

Lily Allen has upset her record bosses – after blaming them for being slack in putting out her new album. The singer blasted her superiors in an outburst on MySpace, and claimed that the company's take-over by Terra Firma resulted in people leaving who were working on her album. She ranted, "Now, the album. It has been finished for a while now. I don't really know what's going on with it. The record industry is a very political place at the moment and I am on EMI records. Lots of people have been fired or have taken redundancy as the company was taken over by a private equity firm called Terra Firma. Many of these people were assigned to my projects... I might go on another holiday, as I don't have anything else to do." But it's thought the real reason for the delay is actually because Lily took time off after her miscarriage... Watch this space, or, er this MySpace, as Lily is pretty vocal!

Peaches a no-show at husband's first UK gig

You would have thought that if you were head over heels in love and you hadn't seen your brand new husband for a few days then you'd be gagging to see him, right? Well, not if your name is Peaches Geldof. The TV "star" failed to show up in Sheffield last night to support her husband Max Drummey on the first night of his band's UK tour. Chester French played last night to a half-full Sheffield Academy, but the 23-year-old made no mention of his famous new missus. In fact, he didn't say very much at all, and spent most of the set with his face covered with a scarf and shades on (God, he's just too cool, isn't he?). Peaches decided not to fly back for the gig, as she is still over in Spain presumably trying to make amends to her dad Sir Bob Geldof. Although he has said publicly that he supports the young couple, sources close to the former Boomtown Rat say he is livid about what has happened. Max Drummey's band will continue their UK gig over the next few weeks. We wonder if Peaches will make it to any of the nights...?

Yay! Becks will star in Olympics closing ceremony

We don't know about you, but we've been getting rather caught up in all this Olympic stuff lately. Not only are we actually winning gold medals this time, but we'd never realised what an abundance of tasty male athletes there are in England. Anyway, another Brit who's obviously caught the Olympic bug is another sexy athlete, David Beckham. It was revealed yesterday that the footie ace will star in the Games' closing ceremony, where Beijing will handover to London as the next city to be hosting the Olympics. The actual ceremony will take place in Beijing on Sunday, where London Major Boris Johnson will be handed the Olympic flag and other stars will feature in the celebrations. Becks will arrive at the Bird’s Nest stadium atop a London bus, before having a kick around with kids representing the 205 Olympic nations. X Factor superstar Leona Lewis will also be there to do a live performance. London Olympic officials are hoping that Becks and Leona will provide the star quality for their ceremony. Well, if there's a promise of watching Becks being sweet with the kids, then we'll definitely be tuning in.
