We’ve been avidly following the bizarre story about X Factor contestant Alan Turner, who had us all pretending we had a bit of dust in our eye and that was why we were crying during Saturday’s show. Alan’s sob story, about not knowing his real family, has caused a few raised eyebrows among his, er, alleged real family, who say it’s a load of old codswallop. However, the team at The X Factor say that the tabloid reports are not what they seem, and have just released this statement:
“Alan has never lied to us, nor has he "begged producers" to keep his place in the competition, and at no point has his place in the show been in jeopardy. We can categorically deny that Alan has ever made up any story relating to his past and both the show and Alan refute all claims made. Alan has at no point apologised to producers and his position in the show has never been in jeopardy."
So, now we’re confused. If Alan hasn’t lied, then who is the man claiming to be his dad? And does this affect your feelings for Alan?
