Fiona Philips quits GMTV:
After 12 years of greeting us from the GMTV sofa in the mornings, Fiona Phillips has decided to quit. The 47-year-old shocked TV bosses by announcing that she wants to leave mid-way through her current three-year contract, meaning that she will film her last shows at the end of this year. Fiona says she has made the difficult decision because she wants to spend more time with her children and her elderly father. "I love the job," says Fiona, "But I've got other responsibilities – the children, a home life, and an elderly dad who needs me." She went on to admit that quitting was "one of the hardest decisions I have ever made", but that she had realised that she can't have it all. Fiona joined GMTV as an entertainment correspondent back in 1993 and was initially based in Hollywood. She has been the main female host of the show for the past 12 years, and during her time has interviewed stars such as David Beckham and Brad Pitt, as well as the former Prime Minister Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and, famously, a ranting Heather Mills. GMTV's director of programming said, "We understand why she wants a change, but she will be sorely missed – she's a tough act to follow." We'll miss you, Fiona...!

Suzanne Shaw engaged. Yay!
Suzanne Shaw has got engaged to her DJ boyfriend Jason King. The ex Hear'Say singer and JK have been together since 2005, ever since Suzanne split from her former boyfriend Darren Day, just months after she gave birth to their son (lucky escape there, Sooz). Announcing the news Suzanne said, "We couldn't be happier and can't wait to start planning our wedding and married life together."
 
Alphabeat singer wants some lady love
Alpahabeat's frontwoman, Stine Bramsen, has said she would like some more attention from the ladies, claiming she would even shun male admirers in favour of the girls. In particular, Stine has her mind set on Katy Perry, who recently had a hit with I Kissed A Girl. "I've had interest from guys since I moved to London,” says Stine, “But I'd like more attention from girls. Katy Perry's playing here soon. It'd be cool to meet her." But she could be unlucky, despite the title of her hit single, Katy insists she’s more of a guy-girl.

Meanwhile, Linsday wants to go back to boys (apparently...)
Now, we're not too sure about this latest report, but bear with us. Lindsay Lohan has allegedly been "bombarding" Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps with calls and texts, "begging" him for a date. Friends of the American gold-medalist are claiming that Lindsay first contacted the athlete a fortnight ago, and has been calling ever since. Michael was seen showing pals a text message he'd received from the actress in London last week. A source said, "At first he thought it was a joke when she got in touch, but she's been phoning and calling him almost constantly." The source also claims that Lindsay is "desperate" to hook up with Michael, and that they will meet at the MTV Video Music Awards next month. All this comes as a bit of a surprise, because to us, it seems like Lindsay is very happy and settled with girlfriend Samantha Ronson. Ever since the pair hooked up, they have been dogged by rumours that Lindsay is still flirting with other boys – with some sources claiming that Lindsay sometimes does it to make Samantha jealous. Although Lindsay has been linked to a number of questionable men over the past few years (yes, Calum Best, we do mean you), she's never seemed as happy and settled as she does with Samantha. Could all these rumours simply be the result of jealousy? heatworld isn't sure, but we'll be keeping a close eye on what happens.
