Wendy Richard accused of being racist after BBLB appearance:
We've always wondered why the hell Wendy Richard (EastEnders Pauline Fowler) keeps getting asked to appear on BBLB, but after last night's cringe-worthy appearance, we doubt she ever will be again. The outspoken star began talking to George Lamb about her feeling towards Kat – saying that she thought the housemate was "fake" and that she "didn't trust her". This is all well and good, but it was what came next that left heatworld's jaw dangling down by our knees. "She is fake," began Wendy, before muttering, "What is it they say about these inscrutable chinese? And is she Thai, but that is Oriental, isn't it? Well, it is to me, anyway." Her comments caused the live audience to gasp in shock, but Wendy ploughed on regardless, saying, "They don't betray their emotions on their face, that is what I meant." WTF? We knew Wendy was getting on a bit, but what century does she come from, exactly? Poor George Lamb attempted to claw back some normality, saying quickly, "I don't think that's unique to Asian people, more to Kat..." Unfortunately, the damage was already done, and viewers were calling Ofcom to complain. A spokesperson for BBLB said, "George Lamb did correct her," while Wendy's people claimed the incident had been "blown out of all proportion" and that she is "not racist at all."
Lily talks about pal being kidnapped
Lily Allen shocked the audience at the GQ Men of the Year awards last night by taking the opportunity to thank the police for saving her friends from kidnappers. It turns out that a close friend of the singer's was kidnapped at gunpoint and bundled into a car boot, where he remained for six days while the gang attempted to secure a ransom. Seriously, this isn't the plot of a film, this actually happened. Talking at the swanky awards in London last night, which she co-hosted with Sir Elton John, Lily told her audience, "My friend Charlie was kidnapped a few weeks ago and was kept in a car boot for six days without any food or anything." She then went on to tell the enraptured crowd, which included celebs such as Liz Hurley, Gordon Ramsay and Mark Ronson, that she had been "terrified" about what would happen. "It was really scary," she said earnestly, "From what I hear the police did a fantastic job – thank you to the Met." Aside from Lily's Bond-plot revelations, the night was a huge success. Lily also told the crowd that her brother Alfie Allen's missus Jaime Winstone was her "soon-to-be sister-in-law" and told people to check out her diamond. Um, right, so we guess congratulations are in order, too...
Keira wins best pout
With everyone thankfully over the Olympics for another four years (ooh, 2012 etc etc), there’s a new sporting activity Britain’s triumphing in – pouting. Who would’ve thought? English starlet Keira Knightley has topped a poll of the world’s most perfect celebrity pouts, beating off competition from Angelina Jolie and Kylie. Keira has previously said of her pout, “I don’t pout to be sexy. I do it when I’m concentrating. I think it makes me look constipated.” Er, overshare? Perennial trout-pouter Leslie Ash came last in the survey, winning the not-so-enviable accolade of Worst Pout. Will a nation ever forget?
X Factor twins "already had record deal"
Another day, another X Factor controversy. Still scratching our heads over the “Alan forgetting his parents” episode, today it emerged blonde twins Francine and Nicola Gleadall have been in three bands, and had a record deal – they even once sang on the same bill as Girls Aloud. Wonder if they had a pre-emptive word with Chezza C? But show bosses insist the pair didn’t contravene any X Factor rules through their previous music industry activities. A spokesperson for the show said, “We were fully aware of the girls’ past. It doesn’t break any rules as they don’t have a current record deal.” That’s us told then.

I thought X Factor contestants could have a manage and/or record deal, as long as they haven't released any singles or albums?

6 days???? Where did he poo? Surely he'd die without water? I hope Lily will be paying him a lot of cash after that! Terrible.
