Jade: "They caught cancer in the nick of time"
Jade Goody has revealed that she has new hope – after doctors managed to catch the cancer in "just the nick of time". Although the cancer was found to have spread, Jade, who is recovering in hospital after having an eight-hour hysterectomy, has told a friend that she can now look to the future, but is struggling to cope with knowing that her chances of having a daughter are now impossible. Jade said; "I've always wanted a little girl, but it's not going to happen so I've got to get my head round that. But it's hard. The other day at one of my friends, it was her little girls birthday and there were loads of kids there and little babies there." But Jade has said she will not tell her two boys, Freddie and Bobby Jack that she has cancer, adding; "I can get away with saying silly things, like if I lose my hair I'll tell them I used the wrong shampoo."

No birthday bash for Amy

Celebs turned out in force this weekend to celebrate Amy Winehouse's birthday in London, but there was just one slight problem – the lady herself refused to attend. Stars, including Amy's old pal Mark Ronson, singer Adele and ex-BB star Aisleyne "know yourself" Horgan-Wallace waited for hours at the Jazz After Dark club, only to be left disappointed when the troubled singer failed to show up. Friends say that Amy, who has just turned 25, refused to leave the house after becoming convinced she looked "too ugly". Amy's best friend Remi Nicole spent three hours trying to persuade Amy to leave her Camden pad, but the singer was having none of it. Even the fact that her ill mum Janis was waiting at the club didn't rouse Amy – and Janis later went home in tears. One friend said, "Amy was standing in front of the mirror telling everyone how rough she looked. She kept saying she was ugly and was in an awful state." Despite the birthday girl failing to show up, the 15 guests were determined to still celebrate, and the party went ahead without Amy. We can't argue that Amy hasn't exactly been looking her best lately – maybe it will give her the wake up call she so clearly needs. Oh well, happy birthday anyway, Amy.

Peaches says it with ink
They've been dogged by rumours that their Vegas wedding was just a scam – but now it would appear that Peaches has found a new way to silence her critics. The 19-year-old, er, well-known daughter of a famous singer, has decided to show the world how much she cares about her new husband Max, by having his name tattooed on her wrist. Peaches showed off her new inking at this weekend's Topshop catwalk show as part of London Fashion Week, leaving no doubt in anyone's mind as to her commitment to her man. The drummer has also had a matching tattoo etched onto his wrist, spelling out the name Peaches. Hmm, all this reminds heatworld of when we used to scribble the name of our first school crush on our hand in green biro and pretend it was a tattoo. Still, maybe we're just being cynical and all this is a sign of their true and deep love for one another...

Vernon Kay "killed off" by prankster!

Celebs are used to hearing weird and wonderful rumours about themselves on a daily basis – but it must be a bit scary to find out you're dead! This is what happened to Vernon Kay this weekend, after one "hilarious" prankster decided to update the Wikipedia page about the TV star, saying he had died during a yachting accident. Friends and family of the star were frantically ringing around to make sure he was OK – only to discover that he was perfectly well, and no where near a yacht. The prankster had written, "Vernon Kay sadly passed away after falling off a yacht on holiday in Greece." Last night Vernon, who was in fact at home, joked, "I am alive and well – I wish I was on a yacht in Greece!" How weird must it be to hear a rumour that you're dead? We really don't envy these celebs sometimes.
