Britney to perform on The X Factor! Screeeeeeam!
OMG! This could be the most exciting piece of news we've heard all week – Britney Spears is reported to be coming to the UK this year to perform on The X Factor. The ITV1 show has a history of pulling in the big stars to appear on the live shows, with past artists including Kylie Minogue, Take That and Westlife – but if they have managed to get Britney, then WOW! Reports say that Brit will come over to the UK to perform her new single Womanizer in December. One X Factor insider revealed, "Everyone is thrilled. To have Britney is a massive coup." They can say that again. Brit hasn't been over to the UK for almost four years due to her ill health, but it is now thought she is strong enough to face the limelight again. We can't even begin to imagine the excitement if Brit does come over here. It would certainly propel The X Factor into another league. Fingers crossed, everyone!
Oooh! Pixie and Nicholas Hoult get it on
This is has to be, quite possibly, the most brilliant hook-up of the year. Pixie Geldof turned 18 a couple of days ago and, to celebrate, she got off with Skins actor Nicholas Hoult (who heatworld has fancied from a far for quite a while now. Is that a bit wrong? We don’t care). The tonsil tennis took place in London’s trendy Bungalow 8 night club and, although the pair tried to keep a low profile, they were spotted sneaking off into a corner. Heartbreakingly, it all went wrong when Nick crept away to chat up two – hello, yes TWO – other mystery girls. After realising Pixie was on the hunt for him, he hid under a table before making a quick escape. We don't think Pixie will be too impressed when she finds out what he was up to behind her back. Then again, she could probably have her pick of the boys.
Strictly star already a professional dancer
It's usually The X Factor which is dogged by rumours of cheaters, but now it would appear ITV's rival channel is in the spotlight. It has been alleged that Strictly Come Dancing contestant Cherie Lunghi is actually a former professional dancer – not just in ballroom, but in tap, jazz and ballet as well. During an interview published back in 2001, the actress admitted she'd had extensive dance training, saying, "I was working in the profession from a very young age." A source has admitted that the news may anger fans, not to mention Cherie's rivals on the dance floor. "The whole ethos of the show is that celebrities are trained from having two left feet up to a good standard. The other contestants most likely won't be happy – let alone the public." Despite the claims, and the fact that a former official biography of Cherie released by the BBC also stated that she was a dancer, Strictly sources are adamant that no rules have been broken. A spokesman stated, "Although Cherie studied ballet as a child, she's had no dance training in her adult life." Hmm, all this reminds heatworld of that episode of Friends where Joey admits to having loads of pretend skills on his resume, such as horse-riding, speaking French and drinking a gallon of milk in 15 seconds... What do you think? Has Cherie got an unfair advantage, or has this all been blown out of proportion?
Mark quits London to get over Daisy
Oh no! We’ve been hearing conflicting whispers at heat Towers for the past few days, but we're sad to report that it looks like Mark Ronson and Daisy Lowe are indeed over after all. What’s more, Mark has spoken out about it for the first time, and revealed that he is quitting Britain for New York to mend his broken heart. “I’m just in London for a little while for work and then I’m going to be living in New York,” he said at a party for London Fashion Week. The uber-producer is also throwing himself into work to get over the break-up: “I’m doing my own thing at the moment and just getting on with things really. I’m in the recording studio producing Daniel Merriweather’s first album, he’s sounding great.” We’re gutted that one of heatworld’s most favourite couples have split, however, we have a feeling that it just might not be over for good. We're keeping everything crossed...
