Protestors ruin Katie's big night

It was supposed to be her big night – Katie's Holmes' Broadway debut in All My Sons – but sadly for her, some protestors had other ideas. Demonstrators from the anti-Scientology group Anonymous turned out in droves with banners and posters to protest – with some even bearing the words "Free Katie". The group, most of whom were wearing masks, ranted, "We are not boycotting Katie, we are not boycotting the play, we are protesting Scientology. It is evil. Scientology kills people." Blimey! If the protestors were hoping to get the attention of Tom Cruise then they were out of luck – he only showed up to watch his missus with minutes to spare and dashed straight to his seat. A spokesperson from Anonymous said, "We would love to see Katie Holmes get away from this evil cult before it's to late." The actress has never spoken out about her feeling towards Tom Cruise's much-loved Scientology, but it is generally assumed that she is a member of the Church as well. We hope all the fuss didn't put her off her performance – we think it's great that she's acting again.
