Posh: "I'm not trying for a baby"

Posh: "I'm not trying for a baby"
Despite ongoing rumours, Posh has finally set the record straight and says she’s not trying for a baby. “I’m not even trying to get pregnant at the moment,” she says in a new interview. “I don’t want another baby for two years because I’m working so hard on my fashion business. I haven’t got time.” She went on to add, “Yes, we would like another child, but it won’t be for a couple of years yet.” Posh also lifts the lid on her marriage to Becks, and, somewhat unsurprisingly, she paints a picture of domestic bliss. “David and I still go out on our own and we have a real laugh together,” she says. “I love him more now than when we first met. I know people don’t want to believe that we are happy, but we are. And, come on, I couldn’t put on an act. I’m not that good an actress. Have you seen Spiceworld?” she quips. “My mum and dad have been married for 40 years and they still sit down together and watch TV holding hands. They are my role models.” And despite the Beckhams being rich beyond their wildest dreams and living in LA, Posh concludes that she doesn’t lavish her boys – Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz – with loads of toys and computer games. “We both say no to the kids and they don’t get everything they want,” she says. “It’s nice to treat them, but at the same time, you don’t want them to end up as spoilt sods, and it could be very easy – especially living here.” We get it, Posh, you’re just like everyone else. What do you make of her latest insight into family life at the Beckhams? Is it all a bit too good to be true, or do you feel all warm inside after reading that?

Blake turns down early release – again
Amy Winehouse’s hubby Blakestillincarcerated has turned down the chance to leave jail before his 18-month sentence is up – because he doesn’t want to go to rehab (insert “No, No, No” joke here). Prison bosses wanted Blake to go straight into a rehab facility, but he has decided to stay in jail rather than spend time detoxing. Last week, he was offered early release if he went to live with his mother in Nottinghamshire (read: as far away from Camden – and Amy – as possible) and wore an electronic tag, but refused the offer. A friend of Amy's says, “All he wants is a free reign when he leaves, which means living with Amy back in Camden. But if he is turning down these chances to leave jail and get clean, it doesn’t bode well for him and Amy when he finally does get out.” *smacks face on wall*

Pete Doherty reveals his chequered past
Pete Doherty isn’t exactly synonymous with clean-living, but a pal of the singer has revealed he wasn’t always a badly behaved rock and roller –  it turns out the Babyshambles star was his school chess champion back in the day. Hmm, stranger things have happened... (Er, strike that, we don’t actually think they have). Friend – and first love – Emily Baker fell for Pete’s pawning charms many years ago, and was delighted to be reunited with the star during preparation for a solo gig yesterday. She says, “(Pete) hasn’t changed all that much. I remember him being an incredible dancer and really good at chess and football. At school he was a bit cheeky and always took things too far.” No surprises there, then…

Lucas and Walliams to make a movie
Little Britain star Matt Lucas has revealed that he and his co-star David Walliams are working on a new film project that will see the pair playing multiple characters. In a similar way to Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers, Matt and David want to play five or six characters in the film. Matt explained, "It'll be technically very challenging, but as our audience on TV are used to seeing us playing different characters, we thought it would be interesting to make a movie where we all play lots of characters and have scenes where they all interact." The project's title is being kept a secret at this time, but Matt and David hope it will be produced by fellow comedian Ben Stiller's production company. "The film has not been green-lit yet," explained Matt, "So it would be foolish to say the name of it." Well, it worked for Mike Myers in Austin Powers, but do Matt and David have what it takes to hold our attention for the length of a whole film? Ha! Of course they do!
