Cheryl Cole

Simon: "Cheryl is the best X Factor judge ever";
Dannii Minogue, look away now. We’ve known for ages that Cheryl Cole is the best thing to have come out of the North East since 1983 (the year she was born, fact fans), but finally the world has jumped on to the glittering Chezza C bandwagon too. Simon Cowell’s ex, Terri Seymour, is the latest in a long line of celebs to sing the praises of the wondrous Cheryl Cole – and has even admitted Simon thinks she is the best judge in the history of the show. She says, “Cheryl has been marvellous. It has been a great surprise. In fact, Simon called me after the first show and said, ‘She is the best judge I have ever worked with. She’s a natural. She just gets it.’” Wonder what Dannii, Louis and Sharon will think about that?

Laywers sue Heath’s life insurers over £5.6 million payout
Lawyers acting on behalf of late actor Heath Ledger’s daughter Matilda Rose have launched legal action against an insurance company – after it tried to escape paying out his £5.6 million fortune. Earlier this week, Ledger’s family vowed to give the star’s money to his three-year-old daughter, but now ReliaStar Life Insurance claims it can contest Heath’s life insurance policy while it investigates whether he killed himself or died by natural causes. But a coroner ruled earlier this year that the 28-year-old’s cause of death was accidental, caused by prescription drugs, and not suicide.

Primrose Hill set to be made into a film?
Now this is the kind of movie we would definitely want to see… yes, Hollywood producers are in talks to make a film about the wild lifestyle of London’s fashionable Primrose Hill set, which includes of course Kate Moss, Sadie Frost and Rhys Ifans among others. The film-makers behind Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Superbad have been staying in the area, researching about the area to get inspiration for the movie. “Primrose Hill is one of the focal points of London’s showbiz scene and these guys from Hollywood are now interested in making a movie about the place,” says a source. And apparently hearing Russell Brand talk about the place while filming Forgetting Sarah Marshall was the reason behind it all. “This movie could be the new Notting Hill, only darker than that film,” the source adds. Ooh, we can’t wait.

Travis Barker: “I’ll never fly again”
Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has vowed (quite understandably) never to get on an aeroplane again after being involved in a plane crash that killed four people. Paris Hilton’s ex-lover Travis and Adam Goldstein (aka DJ AM) were the only two people to survive the aeroplane disaster, after their private jet veered off the runway in South Carolina last month. Both men have been in hospital with severe burns ever since, and are expected to make a full recovery.
