JK Rowling makes £3million a week
Bugger it, why couldn't we have come up with a story about a boy wizard? While the rest of us are busy worrying about that credit crunch thingy, it's just been revealed that since the release of seventh book Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, 43-year-old author  JK Rowling has been raking in more than £3million a week. A week! Makes Becks, Ronaldo and co's weekly wages look like peanuts, doesn't it? Now the biggest-earning author of her time, JK 's come a long way since her days as a single mum living off benefits ten years ago – and good for her, we say. Now, can you lend us a tenner, JK?

Kate Moss may have lost a few lucrative modelling contracts over the last few years, but now a sculptor named Marc Quinn has come forward to immortalise her in quite a different way: solid gold. The artist wanted to do a sculpture of the person who's  "the ideal beauty of the moment", apparentlty, so made the sculpture, named "Siren", which is  an almost-lifesize rendition of the 34-year-old model carrying out the sort of yoga pose that makes our eyes water. Complete with her feet tucked behind her head [can Kate Moss actually do that in real life?], the statue is due to be exhibited at London's British Museum in the Statuephilia exhibition.  

X Factor Mali’s agony over sick dad
Sad news –  it's been revealed that the father of X Factor star Mali-Michael McCalla suffered a heart attack just as Mali was set to battle for his place in the final 12. Mali was on his way to Simon Cowell’s house in Barbados when he found out his dad Noel – who’s also a singer – had collapsed onstage. Noel was then admitted to hospital in Austria, where he had been performing. A source says, “He was devastated. Noel stayed in hospital for a week. He’s home now recovering, but Mali feared he would not be able to perform his best. It’s an emotional experience at the best of times. Mali had to hold himself together.”  We'll be watching Mali this weekend at Simon's house on X Factor and keeping our fingers crossed for him.
 
Peter: 'Jordan’s boob jobs are like buying a handbag'
There’s never a dull moment in the life of Peter Andre and Jordan, whether it’s launching a bedding range, letting TV crews film the miniutae of their everyday life, or er, having cosmetic surgery. And now the long-suffering Pete has likened his wife’s penchant for boob jobs (big AND small) to buying a handbag in a new interview. If only things were that simple. Pete has admitted Katie doesn’t consult him before she goes under the knife – but insists it doesn’t really bother him as it’s "a girl thing". He says, “Do you ever consult you husband about the bag you’re going to buy or the clothes you’re going to wear? You know what girls are like and it’s understandable.” We think we’ll stick to the handbag buying for now…
