Katy Brand: "I'm scared of Lily Allen"

Katy Brand: "I'm scared of Lily Allen"
Comedienne Katy Brand hid from Lily Allen in a toilet – fearing the feisty singer might thump her over her comedy sketches. Lily has been the subject of many of Katy's shows and, when at a showbiz bash, she spotted the fiery Lily – Katy picked the more cowardly option and chose to hide, err in the bog. Katy said, "I saw her at a party just after those photos of her punching a fan. So I hid. I'm not proud." Katy has poked fun at a number of celebs including Adele, Kate Moss and Stella McCartney, but it's Katy Perry who should be worried – it seems she is the target of Katy's Christmas special. "We're changing the lyrics from 'I kissed a girl and I liked it', to 'I kissed a girl and I faked it'." Katy says, even suggesting that the tune may end up on iTunes, "Earlier this year we put our Usher 'cover' Love In Da Pub on iTunes. It did alright."

Angelina's looks have "ruined" her career
We don't know about you, but we'd be quite happy to look like Angelina Jolie. Our boyfriend would be quite happy with that too, we imagine... But, according to Western star and director Clint Eastwood, Ange's super-hot looks are more a curse than a blessing. "I've always admired her talent," Clint explained, "But she's somewhat hampered sometimes by having this gorgeous face, the most gorgeous face on the planet." The director goes on to say that he thinks people overlook her talents because of her face – a claim that has also been made about her other half Brad Pitt, who has always struggled somewhat to gain critical acclaim for just his acting ability. "She is a great talent," continued Clint about Angelina. "It would be easy to overlook that, but you soon realise that she is this great, talented person." The legendary star then went on to compare Angelina to Meryl Streep, and gushed on about her talents as an actress. We think she's found a fan. Do you think Ange's looks have affected her career in a bad way, or does it make no difference what a person looks like?

Kate hangs up her party shoes
It's off. Yawn. It's on. Yawn. It's back off. Yawn. No – really this time it's back on! Seriously, we can't keep up with Jamie Hince and Kate Moss and their volatile relationship! The duo who have split up and got back together more times than we've changed our undies are said to be back on – after Kate agreed to tone down her wild partying ways. The couple split last month when The Kills star Jamie became fed up of her partying – but Kate is so desperate to keep her man she has promised to trade the nights out for nights in with her beau, telling a friend, "Me and Jamie are fine. He wasn't best pleased with me going out all the time but it wasn't a massive issue and it's all sorted now. We're really happy." Since Kate and Jamie met last September they have had a string of public rows, but a source says they are definitely back on and in love adding, "The romance is back on. Kate loves Jamie. It wasn't a difficult decision for her to tone down partying because she's committed to making the relationship work."

Coldplay win big at the Q Awards

Yesterday saw some of the biggest names in the music biz ascend on the capital for the Q Awards, but for one man the night didn't end as happily as he would've liked. Rock veteran Meat Loaf, whose song Bat Out Of Hell won the Classic Song Award, left the audience concerned after he shuffled up on stage and mumbled an incoherent acceptance speech. Worried staff later blamed an eye operation for the curious behaviour, but Meat Loaf was taken to hospital immediately to be extra careful. Other big winners on the night included Coldplay, who scooped the coveted Best Act In The World Today gong, beating music heavyweights Oasis. Chris Martin was so chuffed he even managed a little joke about Girls Aloud's pants falling off! Host Alan Carr struggled a little at first with his moody rock crowd, but managed to get a few giggles in the end. The Q Awards have always been a notoriously boozy affair, and this year it was the Sugababes that got in on the action – they all headed straight to the pub after the event to share a few jars with Sterophonics' Kelly Jones and Welsh crooner Tom Jones.
