It all seems like yonks and yonks ago that Britney was in any trouble with the law but, unfortunately for the singer, there are still a few dark clouds hovering in her otherwise sunny life. The star's lawyers have failed in their last-ditch attempt to prevent her going to trial for driving without a valid license. The Los Angeles Superior Court has ruled that the trial will go ahead on 15 October, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for later today. The trouble all comes from an incident that occurred in LA last summer, when Brit bumped her Mercedes into another car and drove off without leaving a note. The owner of the other vehicle filed a complaint, but this was later withdrawn after Britney agreed to pay the disgruntled driver directly. However, the authorities are still pursuing the charge that Brit did not have a valid Californian license when the accident occurred. The law states that drivers must apply for a license within 10 days of moving to California, but Brit failed to do so. It seems a great shame that the poor thing has to face a trial when she's just getting back on her feet, but we suppose the law's the law and all that...

Why the hell do people with so much money not bother getting licences????? It's not like they can't afford it, do they think they're above the law???

Her vocal chords should be removed as punishment then we won't have to hear her squeaky, studio enhanced, minnie mouse singing voice ever again. Hooraaaay!!
