We’ll go to hell for laughing about this…

It’s fair to say that Katie Melua isn’t our favourite singer. We’re sure she’s a sweet girl and all, but we’ve been known to spontaneously combust when we hear the words “There are nine million bicycles in Beijing. And that’s a fact.” Therefore, we couldn’t help but laugh when we heard that our nan’s favourite singer had a near-death experience on stage recently. But we do feel bad about it (and that’s a fact). “I swallowed a piece of my hair while I was singing a song called Scary Films and couldn't breathe,” she reveals. “I had to try to carry on singing while getting the hair out of my mouth without anyone noticing, and it wasn't very nice. I guess it's an occupational hazard when you have long hair hanging down over your face, but I'm seriously thinking about shaving it all off like Sinead O'Connor.” That would be one way of solving this life or death situation, but we’ve thought of another – how about she never sings again?
