Things get worse for Gordon

Things get worse for Gordon:
So far, so good for Gordon Ramsay. Until now, that is. Despite the allegations he’s been carrying on with a lady who isn’t his wife, and his constant jokes over the claims he’s been cheating (see: Delia Smith), it had looked like the profanity-loving chef was coping well. But when the couple were spotted out and about last night, they looked to be showing the strains of the last week. Both husband and wife looked stony-faced as they drove back to their house in south-west London, a day after Gordon's 'mistress' made further claims about Gordon, saying he also had two other lovers. Meanwhile, Sarah Symonds, the lady in question, spent the day getting her hair done back home in Wales. We’ll just have to wait to see how this one unfolds.

Amy buys Louis a festive gift
As it’s the season of goodwill and all that, we’re not surprised to hear stories of various celebs being lovely to one another. But the prize for being filled with very bizarre joys of the season goes to Amy Winehouse, who splashed out on a special gift for Louis Walsh at the weekend – she bought him a special gift for looking after her goddaughter Dionne when she visited The X Factor on Saturday. And what do you get the Irishman who has everything? A pair of shamrock cufflinks and a green tie from Selfridges, evidently. Nothing like reverting to a stereotype, eh? A source says, “It came nicely wrapped up. Best of all was the handwritten note. Louis was stunned.”

Simon: "Britney was in awe of me!"

We all thought that Brit behaved a little bit stiffly during her X Factor performance on Saturday, but, according to a certain Mr Cowell, there's a simple explanation – she was starstruck by him. Ahem, indeed. The X Factor judge explained his theory yesterday, saying, "This may be a bit egotistical... but I think she was in awe of me." Um, hang on, didn't Britney make him wait outside her dressing room? Well, that doesn't bother Simon. "She was just staring at me," he went on smugly. "I said, 'Touch me, I'm human,' and I think that broke the ice." Simon was also quick to jump to Britney's defence, after she received a lukewarm reaction to her much-hyped appearance. "There was more buzz, more excitement, for this girl than anyone else. It was as if the President was on the show," Simon argued, before adding, "I love it. If you're going to be a star, be a star. She was terrific, very professional. This girl's got huge star quality." Blimey! Sounds to us like Simon's the one who's a little starstruck...

Jennifer's brother-in-law charged with murder
We were all shocked by the tragic news that actress and singer Jennifer Hudson's mum, brother and nephew had been murdered, and now the star's brother-in-law has been officially charged with the murders. William Balfour, who is just 27, will be accused of shooting Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson and little Julian King – his own seven-year-old stepson. Balfour was arrested shortly after the first two bodies were discovered, and Julian King's body was later found in Balfour's abandoned car. After marrying Jennifer's sister Julia back in 2006, her and Balfour's relationship broke down amid rumours of arguments over money. The whole story is a huge tragedy - poor Jennifer and her family.
