Tourism minister THANKS Amy for her wild holiday

Amy Winehouse might have been upsetting fellow tourists in St Lucia with her wild behaviour (throwing a drink on someone, crawling along the ground begging people for booze, allegedly vomming over a breakfast buffet, and generally behaving like she’s on Ayia Napa Uncovered) but someone loves her – the tourism minister for the Caribbean island. Allen Chastanet says he’s delighted that Wino’s having a gay old time on holiday there, as it brings publicity to the island and “any edge you can get, you hang onto it.” Er, right – she's certainly edgy, yes. Meanwhile Amy herself says she’s loving her extended holiday at the £200-a-night Le Sport Spa resort. “People think I'm a mess or something, but I'm having such a great time and feeling so good at the moment,” she says. “I'm certainly not out of control as some people have said. Yes, I've had a few drinks but I'm on holiday – I'm just young and having fun. I'm getting loads of exercise, eating brilliantly and I've really been able to relax. I wasn't really eating properly before with everything going on around me, but it's different now.” It’s true that Amy looks much healthier than she has in years, so we reckon we’re on her side with this one… although we won’t be tucking into that buffet any time soon.
