Stars defy the weather in the name of fashion!

While the rest of us were busy hanging our rain-sodden socks on the radiator to dry last night, a collection of celeb ladies were braving the downpour in frocks and heels to attend the Elle Style Awards – and of course we have lots of pictures to show you. Loads of ladies, including Courteney Love, Alice Dellal, Lisa Snowdon and Natalie Imbruglia played it safe in all-black ensembles, but there were also some nice splashes of colour on the red carpet, most notably from actress Thandie Newton, who looked slightly as if a Skittles-loving child had thrown up all over her. Alexandra Burke also made a brave statement in a stripy nautical-style dress, while Sugababe Heidi Range stood out from the crowd in a bold red number.
