Dev to appear on the real Who Wants To Be A Millioniare?:
heatworld's had a little crush on the lovely Dev Patel for quite some time now, and we think this story may make us – and you – love him even more. The 18-year-old actor, star of the phenomenally successful and multi award-winning Slumdog Millionaire, is set to imitate what his Slumdog character did and appear on the real Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?. Dev and the film's director Danny Boyle want to take part in the iconic ITV show in order to raise money for starving street kids. A source revealed, "Danny and Dev are keen to keep giving back to the street kids. To have Dev back in the Millionaire hotseat would be brilliant, and would do a lot for charity." We for one would love it if this happened. Any excuse to watch more of the lovely Dev.

Jack pleads to have his curfew removed
Jade Goody's husband Jack Tweed has begged probation chiefs to allow him to be de-tagged so he can be with her in her final hours. Arriving at the probation offices in Harlow, Essex, Jack said he was "feeling hopeful" adding as he exited, "Hopefully they will relax the tag to let me be with Jade. She’s my wife and she needs me by her side.” Currently Jack has a curfew of 7pm as part of his early release from an 18-month jail sentence for assaulting a teenager with a golf club – and the curfew means that he can't spend nights with Jade, instead returning to his mother Mary's house in Buckhurst Hill. It's thought that the daily goodbyes are causing upset and distress for the whole family, with a friend revealing, “Not having her husband with her is causing added upset to Jade. She becomes tearful when it starts getting close to the time when Jack has to leave. He said he will break the curfew if she starts slipping away – but she doesn’t want him to end up back in prison. It is a constant stress which she doesn’t need." Jade’s spokesman added, “They have put a few feelers out but they are not really expecting anything. They are exploring possibilities. Both Jade and Jack were chuffed they got to spend their wedding night together. We are not taking liberties. We don’t want to push it and we understand the deal – but it would be wonderful if something could be done. Jade would obviously love to have her husband by her side at the moment.”

The NME Awards – who won what
The excitement over the Brits has finally settled, and last night saw all the "cool" kids of the music biz head over to Brixton for the NME Awards. The big winners on the night included Oasis for Best British Band, The Killers for Best International Band, The King Of Leon for Best Album and Pete Doherty for Best Solo Act. Don't worry, he didn't manage to scoop the gong for Sexiest Male in the end – that went to Matt Bellamy of Muse. Alexa Chung was awarded the gong for Best Dressed Female, while Amy Winehouse was named Worst Dressed. Seems fair to us. As well as lots of drinking and lots of awards, the big surprise of the night came as Blur's Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon performed on stage together for the first time in nine years. The duo, who have now put their feud firmly behind them, were getting in a little practice before their summer reunion gig in London's Hyde Park – and the reaction they received was tremendous. Are you excited about Blur's reunion, and are you happy with who won what last night?

ITV want to merge with C4 and Five
ITV bosses are reported to want to join forces with Channel 4 and Channel 5 to help them battle the credit crunch. It's thought that the merger would save them millions in production costs and allow greater investment in programming – and would create a broadcaster to rival the BBC in size and scope. An ITV1 spokesperson confirmed that they were looking at "a number of radical ideas" in response to communications minister Lord Carter's interim Digital Britain report and this includes the possibility of a merger. A source added, "These are extremely difficult times. Things have to change or we won't survive." ITV are expected to announce that revenue has dropped 20 per cent in the past few months and is expected to axe 500 jobs – less than six months after the departure of 1,000 staff. When ever will there be some happy new, please?
