Corrie couple split after four years

Oh dear – it's not been a good few weeks for Nikki Sanderson. First it was announced that Heartbeat, in which she stars, was going to be axed after the current series, and now it's been announced that her and her boyfriend, ex-Corrie star Danny Young have split. The couple, who met on the set of Corrie when she played Candice Stowe and he played Warren Baldwin, had been together for four years. The split has been blamed on their "busy careers keeping them apart" (which surely is the most overused standard break-up line in the history of celebrity. Come on, give us something different, people!) what with Nikki being based up in Yorkshire and Danny down in his native Essex. We must admit, we're a bit sad about this one – we loved dippy hairdresser Candice and footballer Warren AKA Weatherfield's own Posh and Becks (yes, we know they were Nikki and Danny's characters and not them in real life – whatevah).
