See the scary America’s Next Top Model stampede that lead to three arrests

Shocking new details are emerging about the chaos that ensued at this weekend’s America’s Next Top Model auditions in New York – and this footage has turned up online too, showing just how out of control things got. Several hopefuls ended up in hospital and three people were arrested after the stampede, which reportedly started when a nearby car overheated, causing one contestant to yell “There’s a bomb!”. Around 10,000 women were waiting outside a Manhattan hotel when the trouble started. Opportunist thieves then stepped in and attempted to rob some of the hysterical wannabe models and, as you can see from our video, several fights broke out. After the chaos had died down, the auditions were terminated, but shoes and clothes were left strewn across the pavement. Can you imagine?! Presenter Tyra Banks has now issued a statement about the drama. “We are concerned by the events that occurred Saturday afternoon in the vicinity of the New York City casting call for the next cycle of 'America's Next Top Model,” it read. “At this time, we still don't know all the details of what happened or what triggered the incident. We appreciate the efforts of the NYPD and will assist them in any way possible in this matter.” Bloody hell, scary or what?! Now there’s a good reason not to go into modelling – nothing to do with the fact that we’re 5’4” and have a big toe weighing more than your average contestant...
