Tributes flood in for Jade:
As we all struggle to come to terms with the fact that Jade Goody has finally lost her battle with cancer, her fellow celebs are lining up to pay tribute to the young mum. Stephen Fry was one of the first to speak out, saying, "I warmed to her immensely. All impulsive spirit and smiles. What a life! I suppose she was a kind of Princess D from the wrong side of the tracks." Stephen met Jade when she appeared as a guest on Jonathan Ross' chat show, and the host himself also had some words for the BB star. "I liked her an awful lot," admits Rossy. "She was funny, smart and seized every opportunity with such energy and optimism. I will miss her." Other stars to speak out included Simon Cowell, who admitted he was "really saddened" by the news, Sharon Osbourne, who said Jade was "extraordinary" and Davina McCall, who was full of sympathy for Jade's mum Jackiey, saying, "You can never prepare yourself to lose your baby before you, so I feel very sorry for Jackiey, too." Shilpa Shety, who had hoped to pay Jade one final visit before the end, said she was "deeply saddened", but added that, "I am glad Jade is out of pain and that she died peacefully with her family round her." Jade's funeral is expected to take place within the next ten days, and her publicist Max Clifford says the star very much wanted everyone who felt the need to attend to be allowed. Well-wishers are continuing to arrive to lay flowers at Jade's house, and brave mum Jackiey has been popping outside regularly to speak to them. Here at heatworld, we continue to think of Jade's family and friends at this tragic time.
Natasha Richardson’s funeral takes place
The funeral of actress Natasha Richardson took place in the US yesterday. Natasha died last week after suffering a head injury caused by a skiing fall. Her husband, Liam Neeson, was one of the pall bearers of Natasha’s coffin at the service in Millbrook, 90 miles north of New York. Mourners at the funeral included Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman and Uma Thurman.
Ray Quinn takes the DOI crown
There was never really any doubt that he would do it, but that didn't stop an ecstatic Ray Quinn reacting with shock when he was crowned the winner of Dancing On Ice last night. It was left to the public to decide their winner between Ray and Donal, after a tearful Jessica Taylor went out third, and they chose Ray. Perhaps because he managed to scoop two maximum scores for his stunning routines. Ray looked stunned when the result was announced, but quickly recovered, lifting his trophy into the air and yelling, "Yeah, baby!" He told hosts Phillip and Holly, "I'm absolutely speechless! I've been dreaming of this moment!" Did you see Ray skate to victory last night? Don't worry if you missed it, because we're going to show you a video of both routines in just a mo!
Natasha Bedingfield and Bruce Willis get married
Wedding bells ahoy in celebland over the weekend – both Bruce Willis and Natasha Bedingfield got married… not to each other, of course. Bruce tied the knot with his girlfriend of just over a year, model Emma Heming, in a private ceremony in the Caribbean. His ex-wife Demi Moore was in attendance, as was her man Ashton Kutcher. Nice to see there’s no hard feelings, eh? Meanwhile, Nat married her man Matt Robinson in a ceremony in Malibu. And in more love-related news, Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford are now engaged. Yay for love, etc.
