What do you get if you throw a big awards do and invite two Bond girls? Lots of male stars, that's what. Quantum Of Solace beauties Gemma Arterton and Olga Kurylenko were just two of the celebs to hit the red carpet last night for The 2009 Jameson Empire Awards, and they were followed by a host of others, including Helen Bonham Carter, Joanna Page, James McAvoy and, erm, Edith Bowman. Rather frustratingly, there was an abundance of safe black frocks on show, so we have to say bravo to Edith for flashing a bit of pattern. Gemma Arterton, however, missed the mark completely in this off-the-shoulder gypsy-style dress, which – sorry Gems – does absolutely nothing for her. However, the site of James McAvoy all blue-eyed and handsome more than makes up for it. Big winners on the night were The Dark Knight, which scooped Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor for Christian "the shouter" Bale. Heath Ledger was also honoured with a special commemoration. Gemma Arterton won the award for Best Newcomer, while Helena BC won the Best Actress gong for her part in creepy horror/musical Sweeney Todd. Acting gongs aside, who do you think took the lead role in the style stakes, and which men are you drooling over?
