What do you think of Keira’s shocking new advert?

We’re seeing Keira Knightley in a whole new light after watching this shocking advert she’s made about domestic violence. In the short film for charity Women’s Aid, Keira is brutally attacked by her partner when he accuses her of having an affair with a co-star. Keira offered her acting services for free because the cause was so important to her, as did director Joe Wright, who she’s previously worked with on Atonement and Pride & Prejudice. “I wanted to take part in this advert for Women's Aid because while domestic violence exists in every section of society, we rarely hear about it,” she says. “Domestic violence affects one in four women at some point in their lifetime and kills two women every week.” The extended version of the ad will air in cinemas nationwide from next week – and the agency behind it are currently battling with censors over whether the graphic violence should be allowed to be aired on TV, too. Seeing someone as famous and poised as Keira appearing in such a shocking advert certainly has a lot of impact, and it’s very admirable of her to get behind such a controversial issue.

Saw on the news it will be shown with 15/18 cert films and after 9 o'clock on tv. That is fair enough. It's an important message and if parents don't want their children to see it they should make sure underage children don't watch post watershed tv.

I can see why people would want this advert banned but i don't it should. Its a subject we tend to ignore and its time to face up to the fact that it happens. I applaud kiera for doing this advert. Well done, kiera, for having the guts to do this.

BRAVO to Keira for doing this. Also, could people who say that it shouldn't be shown get a life. This, plus much worse, happens to women all around the world and as I write, there is a woman being punched right now. So why are we too scared to see it

omg those censor's need to cop onto themselves. its only an ad & people can turn over if they want. anyone suffering like this has to deal with it in real life & cant do anything, which is the whole point of the ad! stoopid censors.
