Christina and Britney

Christina goes head-to-head with Britney at the VMAs
We’re so excited about this year’s MTV VMAs on Sunday – and not least because Britters is back with a vengeance and heading up the whole shebang with Russell Brand. Yes, last year Britney hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons after the VMAs (personally, we didn’t mind because a) Britney is AMAZING and b) Gimme More is AMAZING), but 2008’s ceremony promises to be very interesting, as it’s just been revealed Brit’s old pop rival and fellow Mouseketeer Christina Aguilera is set to perform. Sadly, however, despite the rumours currently doing the rounds, Britney isn’t performing at the show. Show host Russell Brand confirmed, "She's not performing, but she's certainly doing [the show] in a professional capacity. She’s not serving canapés or doing a bizarre haircut on herself!” We can’t wait to see if the pair greet each other through gritted teeth – or if they’ll find another unsuspecting lady for an onstage smooch a la their Madonna VMA three-way in 2003.

Rachel Weisz is top lesbian crush
Rachel Weiz is the hottest lady gay women would like to get it on with, according to a new poll. The wonderfully named "Women We’d Love To Love" survey saw The Mummy star grab the top spot, while, somewhat bizarrely, Nicole Kidman came in second, and moon-faced Minnie Driver was third. Voters admitted they loved Ms Driver because she was “wickedly funny”. Hmm. Remarkably, former lesbian favourite Angelina Jolie has been consigned to the bargain bin of girl crushes, and didn’t even make the top ten. But where was Cheryl Cole in the survey? We’re losing our faith in womanhood…

Lily: “Heath has inspired me”
Model Lily Cole has revealed that working with the late Heath Ledger has inspired her to do more acting. Lily became close friends with the tragic actor on the set of The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus – his last, but uncompleted film – and the pair even went to see gigs together while filming in London. Speaking for the first time since his death, Lily said that Heath’s talent has focused her more on acting as a career, “I’d always been interested in acting, and that is taking priority over modelling now.”  She also spoke of how hard it was for her coming to terms with Heath’s death back in January, “When he died, it was one of the hardest, most devastating experiences,” she said. “It was for everyone on set.”

Becks dropped from England game
Boo… hiss… the new England manager Fabio Capello has dropped the very fit David Beckham from the World Cup qualifying game against Andorra tomorrow. Just when we were looking forward to seeing Becks’ lovely torso back in an England shirt, he’ll be replaced by young whippersnapper Theo Walcott instead. Hmm, maybe he’s quite fit too, but that’s not the point… we have a history with David. If you need a shoulder to cry on, Becks, you know where we are…
