We have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Chris Martin. Sometimes – mainly when he’s attempting to single-handedly battle the paparazzi – he comes across as a bit of a ninny (ooh, get us with our tough talk), but then we read interviews with him and realise that he seems like a rather nice bloke. In the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine, Chris has talked frankly about how, when it came to the ladies, he was a bit of a late bloomer. “I had a tricky time with girls until I was, like, 21,” he says. "I got trapped in the friendship tip many, many times. It was like, 'I need to be a rock star because this is no good: Being the kind of guy that everybody likes but no one wants to have sex with. I don't want to be the person that makes everybody laugh before they go off and bang. I want to be the guy that everybody bangs!” He also says that Gwyneth is his only ever serious relationship. "Is that weird? I don't think it's that weird," he reveals. "It wouldn't be weird 200 years ago... Think of Romeo and Juliet. I always felt it would be great to be with a very powerful woman because it would keep you in your place. Being married to someone very successful and very powerful basically keeps you hungry to improve. You've got to be hungry. If your wife went out with Brad Pitt, you'd want to prove yourself, you know what I mean?” Blimey, we’d forgotten all about Gwyneth and Brad – it seemed so right at the time, didn’t it, with their matching hair and all that jazz…

Aw, that is kind of sweet! I had forgotten she had dated The Pitt, it was so long ago and we all thought they would make it....*Sigh* I would never have put Chris with Gwyn though, in a million years.
