What do you think of Lily’s self-confessed Take That rip-off?

She’s a clever girl, that Lily Allen – she knows we’re gagging to hear her new album, so she keeps teasing us by posting new material on her MySpace page. The latest track she’s using to whet our appetites is called Who’d Of Known (who’d of known? Who’d of known? What are they teaching in schools these days?!) but Lily says it probably won’t be making it onto her album because “I ripped off the chorus from Take That and can’t be bothered with the paperwork”. It’s true that the song does have a touch of the Shine about it, but there’s nothing wrong with that. But what do you think of the track (click here for a listen) – are you excited about hearing more new stuff from Lil?

Frizzylizz, heat is right, 'Whet your appetite' is an idiom from whetstone, which is similar to grindstone, and people use to sharpen tools against it, so whet means to sharpen and therefore 'whet our appetites means to sharpen our appetites.
