This is funny AND terrifying!

We knew there were some seriously scary creatures living over in Australia (10ft crocs and spiders that lurk in the loo and bite your bum – hello!), but we didn't know the country's seagulls had mutated to human size! Thankfully, this seagull isn't actually as frighteningly enormous as it looks, it just happened to perch right in front of a TV network's camera during a live news broadcast. Even though you know it's an optical illusion, it still makes us feel a bit uneasy. Just imagine if seagulls were to become that big? Shudder. Newsreader Peter Hitchener appears not to notice the bird during this clip, but he later admitted he had spotted it, saying, "It had the beadiest huge eyes I've ever seen." Aaargh!

Flying rats. My brother is terrified of them (and given he's a strapping big lad is very funny). He nearly jumped off a roof at his building site to escape one. Calls of 'coo coo' will follow him for the rest of his working life.
