It’s no wonder Chanelle turned a blind eye to Ziggy going off with Kara Tointon last night – she was too busy plugging her fledgling pop career to anyone who’d listen. Chanelle strategically clutched her demo CD to her bosom last night as she swanned around the Children’s Champion Awards, and revealed that she’s been working with that bloke Ben from Phats and Small. Y’know, the one who goes out with Vanessa Feltz. Wow. Chanelle says the track, called I Want It, has a “funky house” vibe and is (you’ll love this…) “sexy for the boys and then feministic for the girls”. Feministic? Is that even a word? Of course, these days you can’t be a popstar unless you’ve got an accompanying TV show, so Chanelle has bagged another series of Wannabe on VH1 – only this time, the quest for pop stardom will focus on her. “She’s the same size as Kylie Minogue and has got some moves on the dance floor – she’ll be a perfect pop star,” says a show source. Seriously, is that all it takes? We’ve got the same number of eyes as Daniel Bedingfield – do we get to be number 34 in the charts now too?
