It’s always tricky for Big Brother contestants to embrace normal life after leaving the house and realising that they’re not actually going to be rich and famous beyond their wildest dreams after all. But we’re still a little disappointed that Darnell Swallow (we’d forgotten that was his surname, and it just made us do a little lol) has slipped down the fame ladder quite so quickly, given that he made it to the BB final just a few months ago. It seems that instead of becoming a Grammy-winning rapper or whatever it was he was hoping, he’s busy being investigated for housing benefit fraud after failing to pay up to the housing association in Islington, north London. Oh dear – do you think he got too accustomed to living rent-free in the BB house? Still, he might actually get to live rent-free again… he could face seven years in jail if he’s found guilty. And guess what? Like many a bitter ex-BB “star” before him, Darnell blames the show for his sticky situation. “When I left Big Brother everyone else was getting magazine deals but I couldn’t get an agent so I didn’t get a penny,” he moans. Our hearts bleed for him – or at least, they would if we weren’t busy working at normal jobs, much like the other two people in the country who haven't yet been on BB...
