Brian Belo's Big Brother blog – part 2

The lovely and wise Mr Belo gives us his views on Beinazir's early eviction and the first weekend of BB10.

Big Bother On the Buses

Armed with a drawn-on thick black moustache, a hat with the words “nuts” emblazoned on it and wrapped in a moth-eaten brown blanket; Beinazir endured what had to be the most humiliating/hilarious eviction ever in the show’s ten-year history. As she was interviewed by Davina on the bus and sent packing home, my ribs hurt so hard because I couldn’t stop laughing – I might go to hell for laughing at this poor woman’s sadistic exit from a reality TV bubble, but it’s worth a meal with Satan. For anyone who has ever graced the BB studios in Elstree, you will be aware that the bus fully left the studio and that was the most amusing thing about it.

Poor Beinazir, couldn’t even remember a single housemates name in her interview or her best moment in the house. Now we’ve sent one person (I can’t call her a housemate) back into British society we’re now left with 15 people living their life though a lens. One person in particular has been very vocal in the house over the last few days, stating that it’s “Dog eat dog”. That person of course is Saffia; quoting the ever popular Saskia Howard-Clarke on day 2, I doubt will gain you many fans or make you a positive influence within the household. Another bold move of sturdy Saffia's is to predict the winner on day 2 and align herself with him. As she chose Charlie and tipped him for big things, I question her agenda and mark her one to look out for. I personally don’t want Charlie & co to fall into a bad crowd with Saffia and Karly; however, I feel he has no other choice because there clearly isn’t another cool young group propping up that house.

Saffia swans round the house being alpha female; she’s irritating as hell. However, she’s making fantastic TV. Saffia spent all night talking to Sophia, but chose Charlie because she wanted to be with her perceived idea of the viewers' favourite. That doesn’t mean I feel for Sophia, not by a long shot, she is passive aggressively bitchy and a sore loser and my early prediction on her being a final weeker went down like a lead balloon (I learnt to spell balloon after Nadia got it wrong in a BB5 task might I add – for BB diehard fans that will remember).

The crown for the king of the BB ten classic quotes belongs to Marcus; how can you not love gems such as him admitting he regularly eats cat biscuits, which to be fair doesn’t actually surprise me. As well as him stating to the other non-housemates, “Are you a pawn in their game or a master of your own destiny”. One person not warming to Wolverine lookalike, cat-biscuit eating Marcus is Freddie, stating in the house that he doesn’t feel like his voice is coming from a calm place. I personally love reggae-loving Freddie, my favourite so far. I just think he is purely there for the experience and his doe eyed naivety is extremely endearing. I love the fact he talks constantly, like he is attending a self-help meeting, I love the fact he sings terribly out of tune to a room full of people before they’re about to go to sleep and thinks his voice is reminiscent of a young Cliff Richard, but most of all I love the fact that he changed his name legally by deed poll to halfwit!

That brings me on to Dogface, hopefully now she has this splendid new name – the female public will gain some sympathy for her. Other reality shows such as The Hills can have aesthetically stunning female leading ladies that women adore; however Big Brother leading ladies do not have the same luck. Why can’t the British female public take Dogface to their heart and admire her fashion sense and strong feistiness the same way they would Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag? It’s the worst injustice taking place on British television over the last ten years – girls all nominate each other, dumb move – girls in the Big Brother house never stick together, jealousy gets in the way and one by one they all go straight away and they are the ones that produce the house drama narrative.

For one year can we have women in the most famous house in Great Britain that stick together and nominate the lads for a change? I mean, how boring would The Hills be if we were left with Brody, Justin Bobby and Whitney? I want Big Brother voters to start voting with their heads and not their hearts. Vote for the house you want to watch, not the house you want to live in!

One man already in tears in the diary room is Sree. He's losing confidence and that is a worrying thing on day 3, because if that is happening already then he could be on a downward spiral. Angel is a strong character, but she also has been feeling the cracks of the first few days, I want her to fit into the group cos’ what we have seen from her has been entertaining so far. Their seems to be a split in the house between the cool popular kids and the odd looking outcasts; with the cool kids stuck with Lisa purely because their far too scared to tell her to jog on – but do you blame them? I think she would take most of the geezers down yet alone the birds.

Four days in and highlight content alone, it’s been a strong start for Big Brother 10. What with Beinazir already on her bus journey home planning what she’s going to be wearing on finale night when she comes back in three months time, I’m still chuckling at cruel Big Bro; it looks like we could have a summer full of twists and turns. What is next round the corner I do not know, I just hope that at least two boys are up for eviction this week!
