Brian Belo was at the Big Brother compound this weekend to witness Cairon's exit from the show. He tells us what he got up to, and what he thinks of the increasingly unpopular Sree...
A Fortnight with Sree
I spent Friday’s eviction night at the Big Brother house doing Big Mouth; it was actually the first time I had ever been to an eviction watching a housemate leave the house with my very own eyes. I’ve got to say what an amazing experience it is. Very surreal because I’ve been a housemate, but even as a fan it definitely gave me goosebumps all over. One thing I’m so glad about is that, even though I’ve been a housemate, I’ve still got loads of enthusiasm for BB, because it really was such a fantastic evening which ended with me in the Big Mouth studio dressed like Siavash and bump ’n’ grindin' with the beautiful Davina McCall to Lethal Bizzle – my best evening of 2009 by far!
The man to get evicted Friday was, as I predicted, young Cairon. As he strolled out of the house with two pairs of jeans on – why on earth would anyone want or need two pairs of jeans I do not know – he was defensive and cold throughout his eviction interview and armed with as much charisma as John Major’s little finger.
Inside the house, Sree in general is doing everyone’s brains in – housemates and viewers. This man has no self control. I think Noirin made a very good point that his behaviour is spurred on by the fact that he feels protected in the house because of the cameras – so that he can consistently push people to the edge, something that he would not get away with in the outside world. I think his behaviour with Noirin is inexcusable and in a workplace would be named harassment. The moment he made fun out of Marcus for not brushing his teeth and having smelly breath because he was sitting next to Noirin was despicable. Sree has no barriers; I think he is a very manipulative man and switches on the little boy lost look to get himself out of predicaments. But it just doesn’t wash with me!
I liked seeing Karly and Dogface’s friendship grow over the weekend. Sophie told Karly how she felt about Kris and that she wasn’t too sure about how he feels about her. I still don’t believe for one second that either of them actually likes each other – mainly because there is no real affection there. It’s literally a case of “I’m good looking, you’re good looking – let’s get together”. It does not seem to have anything to do with actually fancying one another. When you fancy someone, you can’t help but think about them and you feel totally obsessed with them. I don’t see looks of infatuation between Kris and Dogface; however I do between Kris and Charlie. Dogface even said in the diary room that she felt liked she was in a love triangle. Could it be that Sophie is going to abandon Kris to the Doghouse already?
