Biography

Wonky-toothed funnyman Alan Carr was born in Dorset and his dad was a football manager. Alan didn’t inherit too many sporting genes and decided to go into comedy instead after moving to Manchester. He graduated with a degree in Drama and Theatre Studies from Middlesex University, and went on to tour the comedy circuit.

Earning his own monthly show at a Manchester comedy club, Alan has since been in three Edinburgh festival shows, touring the UK with his own show in 2007, and released his hilarious Tooth Fairy Live DVD the same year.

Alan appeared in Channel 4’s Live at the Apollo before branching out into radio. He presented his first show in Radio 2 in 2007, has co-presented with Russell Brand, and now hosts his own weekly Saturday night show on Radio 2. His autobiography, Look Who It Is!, won Heat’s Funniest Book of 2009.

Alan soon became a familiar face on the telly too, appearing on every TV panel show and chat show known to man, hosting the Friday Night Project with Justin Lee Collins, and he now has his own cheeky chat show on Channel 4, Alan Carr: Chatty Man.
